Table Plate Charger DIY - Dinner Party part 2

Dinner Party continued...

For this dinner party I hunted high and low for the perfect charger or place mat. I really wanted round and more of a charger style but didn't have the money to spend. I did find some awesome gold chargers at the Dollar Store. I was concerned that they wouldn't work with my yellow/gold plates and I already had the idea for what I ended up crafting.

I found a post from Pinterest for a DIY plate setting made from cardboard cake plates! I used my 40% off coupons and purchases a 6 pack of 12" cardboard cake circles from both Michael's and Hobby Lobby.  I also found this awesome craft wrapping paper at Home Goods. $2.50 for one roll, which was more then enough to cover 10 circles.

Using my go-to craft product Mod Podge, I coated the top of the circle and then laid it down over the paper. Once it dried I cut the circles out and then applied a coating over the top. Instead of wrapping the edges I hot glued twine to finish off the edges. Super easy. I ran out of hot glue sticks while creating these the night before (procrastination, thy middle name). Thanks to Mr Perfection, who finished these minutes before guests arrived!

I love how they turned out and the guests (female) where amazed that I made them!
