Negative Space Girly Graduation Card

It's hard to believe that 3 of my nieces (I have 4!) are going to be in High School this coming school year!
 Where did the time go?

I wanted to create something, bright, cute and cheerful for my niece as she's all these things.
I didn't feel like doing a typical Graduation card.

I was inspired by the challenge over at Scrapmaster's Paradise to use negative space. After looking thru my Pinterest inspiration I came up with this card!

The card is 5"x5". I cut the square and heart from George & Basic shapes using the Echo Park  paper. This is my 3rd project with this paper, I love it!

I used this cute sentiment from SP's Sunshine Emma stamp

Shutter Card Display

This is my latest addition to my scrapbook room!

I found this shutter a few months ago. I cleaned it and then distress painted it. I'm not sure about my paint job, I might keep working on that. But I do love the overall results. My hubby helped me hang it. I wanted to make sure I could easily detach it to take to craft shows.

Let me know what you think!

SG Sketch Lover's Blog Hop!

Welcome to the first

brought to you by Scrapbook Generations and Ruth from Scrapmachine.com. The blog starts at the SG blog here if you would like to see all the sketch inspiration from start to finish.

My personal experience with SG starts with my mom. I was never really into using sketches, but then I started seeing the amazing work she was doing and really admired the layouts. Well her favorite source for sketches is SG! They are getting ready to revamp the entire site, but you can download free sketches, sketch books and lots of 1 or 2 page sketches. I've actually created quite a few layouts using them and if you'd like to see  more just click here for the label SG layouts. I also feel that a lot of my own layout creations have been inspired by Allison Davis style, so thanks SG!

For this Blog Hop anything goes, so this sketch is from the October WeaveIt Sketch.

I stuck mostly with primary solid colors and then assorted patterns for the strips to weave.

I embellished with buttons, a popped out stamp and this little creation. I had this extra picture that didn't make it into the layout but I loved so I cut it with a circle punch and it fit perfectly inside a button that I highlighted using a die cut flower.

Thanks for checking out my sketch inspiration. I'd love for you to follow my blog and leave me a comment!

Once Colorful Summer Blog Hop!

Welcome to the

Brought to you by the Krazy Crafting Crew

Our independant hop team is bringing you colorful delightful creations for summer time projects!
If you have just stumbled upon the hop, Robin Lane from "Create-a-Latte" will be your host today, you can start from the beginning and work your way through, to get all the inspiration we have to offer. The whole line up will be provided at the end of this post.

Since summer was late to arrive this year I played off of the colorful part more than the summer part of this hop. However these pics were taken late April and should have been more summer weather!

I found this layout on the PageMaps blog and was all set to follow the challenge that came with it. Unfortunately life got in the way & I just now finished. Regardless I loved the inspiration.

The paper is all from the Here & Now kit from Echo Park (which I got in my monthly kit from Scrapmaster's Paradise!) . I absolutely love these colors & patterns. Trust me these pics aren't doing them justice!

This "C" has been in my stash and was a $1 find at M's. Perfect for my C!

The chipboard was also in my stash & I painted it to match. I also glimmer misted the pink to create a bit of shine.

Because I didn't finish this in one setting I was glad I had written down my journaling thoughts for when I finally sat down and finished putting it all together.

Hope you enjoyed my colorful and not so summer layout! LOL

Don’t forget to keep an eye out for some blog candy offered throughout the hop. Some blogs are offering extra perks! They all have their own wishes for you to win, so don't forget to read the rules for each one. when they are offering every blog has different requirements for entries.

Pocket Full of Sunshine Blog Hop and Layout

Welcome to the
pocketfullofsunshine-copy

Lissa Marie is our host at So Many Crafts, So Little Time.
If you came from Anita & Bugs you are in the right spot. If not, head back to Lissa Marie's blog so you don't miss a thing!

Check out these awesome, bright and cheerful projects we have made for you, and get ready to win some blog candy!
Another great reason to comment on each blog other than leaving a blogger feeling warm and fuzzy inside, is so you can also win with some blog candy too!

I'm a sunshiny kind of person, so this hop was right up my alley.

I've been hoarding Simple Stories Summer Fresh paper and thought it was the perfect match for some pics of my kids.

My pocket full of sunshine is a bright & cheerful layout!

These pics were long overdue to be scrapped, although I have already made a mini album with them. I wanted a layout for the kids' scrapbook.

I knew I wanted to use the "you are my sunshine" part of the paper and from there I weeded down my pics to a few favorites and played with the picture placement till I was happy. Then I selected my other papers and started creating.

Using paper sets helps me spend my time being creative instead of looking for the perfect matching paper.

I used Red Jute Twine from MyLifeInArtsnCrafts to add dimension to the sun rays. I cut a second sun and used foam tape to pop it up.

I love how quickly this whole layout came together! and I hope it brought some sunshine to your day.

Now for the goodies
Our sponsor today is Ellen at CardMonkey's Paper Jungle.

Utilizing Wall Space

What would crafting be without storage?
I'm not sure & I don't want to find out.
It's hard to believe that once upon a time all my scrapbook goodies fit into a little box. Then I expanded to a large storage tote, then a little desk, a bigger desk and finally a whole room!
My room is currently bursting at the seams but I'm in denial that it might be time to purge.

I have always loved wall storage. Anything I can get off a surface and use the wall space is welcome.
I wanted to share with you a few of my favorite storage pieces currently up on my walls.

My top favorite right now is my re-purposed crate into Washi Tape storage.
The yellow & red already coordinated perfect with my room. I added a ribbon & it's the perfect Washi tape storage. Ok so I have to give credit to my hubby who I stole the crate from and he hung it! LOL

With a coupon in hand I purchased my Embellishment center from M's a while back. I've moved it around & changed what I store in it, but it's a must have for any crafter!
In fact it's the product highlight today at Craft Storage Ideas

Have you thought about turning your layouts into wall art?
When I create a favorite layout and want to admire it before it gets tucked into an album, I put it on display!
These are record album frames from M's that hold 12x12 pages perfectly.

I have lots more wall storage and a couple in the works that I can't wait to share with you!
So stay tuned for more...

Decorative Letter Etsy Order!

Last week had me getting crafty with my first Etsy order!
I was so excited when it came thru & even more thrilled to have shipped it.

Decorate Letter "F"

This is a 12" decorative letter that I fancied all up for a customer's wedding! She placed an order with a few changes to the one listed in my Etsy store and this is what I made for her!

Here's a close up of the burlap flower.

I can't wait to see a picture of it from the wedding!

If you would like to place an order or see my other Etsy creations check out my store!
